Walking Dead: The Game – Season 2 Scheduled for Fall 2013 Release

Telltale has confirmed that the second season of the commercially and critically acclaimed Walking Dead: The Game is currently aimed towards a Fall 2013 release. Recently Telltale CEO Dan Connors chatted with Eurogamer informing them that the eagerly anticipated second series was to launch sometime next year. Subsequently a Telltale spokesman provided a statement to Game Informer to clear up the situation:

“The current estimated release window for Season Two of The Walking Dead is for Fall of ‘this’ year (2013), and not ‘next’ year (2014) as has been reported after a recent interview. We apologize for any confusion and thank you and all of our fans for your continued excitement for the series!”

In an interview with IGN last month, Connors delineated that “we’re doing a second season of The Walking Dead. That’s going to be a big part of what we’re putting people to work on this year. Right now it’s about figuring out the right way to approach the story, the right way to handle this that’s going to work for what we’re trying to accomplish and give it legs. Certainly we believe there are more stories to tell in The Walking Dead’s universe. The show continues to be huge. People understand what we’re doing. We’re going to continue to work on it. It’s a rich world for what we’re trying to do. We still have a lot of ideas to explore in that world.”

Walking Dead fans will undoubtedly be thrilled to hear that they won’t have to wait an extra year to be able to tie up the loose ends Telltale left us with at the end of the first season. Hopefully the answers we so desperately seek will be provided in only a few short months.
