In the latest Nintendo Direct, broadcast live from Tokyo, gaming visionary and Pikmin creator Shigeru Miyamoto sits down with Japanese comedian Hitoshi Matsumoto to showcase the long-gestating Wii U exclusive, Pikmin 3.
The pair play for over 20 minutes, the footage of which can be found below.
Shigeru Miyamoto has described the game as a “real-time action management game” where players take control of a swarm of 100 Pikmin and use their assistance to complete a variety of tasks. The title has been fundamentally built “with the belief that we can help people understand once again the kind of fun deeper games can offer.”
Pikmin 3 has a release date of July 26 in Europe, July 27 in Australia and August 4 in North America. Will you be picking it up at launch? Let us know in the comments below.
